Sport Manitoba Athlete Assistance Program

Sport Manitoba supports Manitoba's athletes as they strive to pursue excellence and achieve success at the highest national and international levels in their sport. This program provides grants of $500, $750, $1,000, $1,500 to athletes and teams based on performances at their sports annual National Championships and/or their present status as a member of a National Team program. If you have or are planning to represent MABBA at a National or international physique event, we recommend that you review the Athlete Assistance program criteria to assist you in determining your possible eligibility as a physique competitor representing your MABBA. If so, we encourage you to apply for this program. If you have any questions contact Chris McKee, the MABBA Executive Director at mabba@shaw.ca

All MABBA members competiting in 2011 at any IFBB and/or CBBF event

All MABBA members competiting in 2011 at any IFBB and/or CBBF event must have a MABBA membership by June 30th, 2011. You will not be allowed to compete in any national event without one. Memberships can be purchased online at www.Karelo.com.

Important Info for Figure & Fitness Athletes ONLY

For individual poses, competitors will walk to centre stage and perform quarter turns the same as in a line up for comparisons. Except it will be without the instruction of the head judge and they will be allowed to bend one knee during side poses as well as look at the audience during the front and side poses.

Comparison poses will remain unchanged from past posing rules (directed by the head judge, knees together, eyes in the direction they are facing).

Competitor Eligibility

MABBA Competitors,

The CBBF is in the process of identifying Canadian competitors presently eligible to compete at the 2009 North American Championships as well as the 2010 Arnold Amateur Classic.

Although the CBBF has the luxury of time, they are requesting your assistance to expedite the formation of the Canadian Teams and trust that this may alleviate any last minute concerns that the athletes may have.

If you are interested and are qualified to compete at the above noted competitions (see CBBF home page www.cbbf.ca under International Competition Qualification Standards) let me know. Once the athletes have been identified, the CBBF will then provide each competitor with a letter encouraging their participation.

If you know of any athletes who may be getting ready to compete at the above events or whom you may believe would be interesting in receiving a letter, please provide me with names as well as your email address and mailing address.

Thank you,

Tom Heffner
MABBA President
